Full Time Department Head Veterinarian

London Regional Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital is seeking an experienced emergency and critical care veterinarian to lead our multi-doctor Emergency Department as a full-time Head Veterinarian. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills and is motivated and eager to lead a growing team of veterinary professionals.  We are seeking an individual with a desire to mentor and a passion for practicing quality veterinary medicine.  This new role at our hospital will be responsible for implementing medical procedures and techniques that improve the quality and efficiency of veterinary services and client experiences within our Emergency Department.

The ED Head Veterinarian will plan, direct, and coordinate the ED clinical activities, as well as practice medicine alongside our team of associate veterinarians. The successful candidate will not be expected to provide direct supervision of veterinary professionals, but rather work closely with the ED Associate Manager to provide feedback on individual performance and ED department needs, including providing input regarding doctor and support staffing ratios.

Our team is encouraged to work in partnership with any, or all, of our specialty and referral services, which, in addition to the 24/7 Emergency Department, includes Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology and Rehabilitation. Our newly renovated facility includes an in-house blood bank, digital radiography, ultrasound and an extensive in-house laboratory including CBC, chemistry, coagulation, blood gases and more.

Our hospital is located in London, Ontario, one of Canada’s largest cities. London is also known as South Western Ontario’s Forest City where you can take a walk down our tree-lined streets, visit one of our many pristine parks or explore several walking and biking trails. From ski slopes to a world-class performance venue to community theatres, London will keep you busy year-round.

The successful candidate must be available to work days, nights, and weekends. We provide a supportive work environment with a competitive salary and benefits package, including health and dental, CE, uniform allowance, and paid vacation.

To apply for this position, please submit your resume in confidence to Diane Storey, Hospital Business Administrator, diane@londonregionalvet.com

We thank all interested applicants, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
